And so to our newest arrival, Cassie, a four month old blue tabby/tortoiseshell who came to us a couple of months ago.

Where do I start? We chose her because she was the liveliest one and that trait has just become stronger and stronger. I have never come across a kitten with such a strong hunting instinct. She hasn't yet discovered the big outdoors, but when she does, I pity any wildlife around us!

Nothing and nobody is safe when Cassie the Barbarian is around. She is constantly boisterous and is all teeth and claws, and permanently laying in wait for unsuspecting passers - by, especially me!! She's been known to leap two feet in the air and latch on to my hands with her teeth. (Perhaps she was a ferret in a former life!)
Even feeding the goldfish is a major hazard as she can hear me opening the lid of the bowl to sprinkle in the food even when she is at the other end of the house.

She sees it as an ideal opportunity to get a better chance to get her head and/or paws into the water to catch the fish.

The fish actually teases her by swimming up to the side of the bowl as if to say "Ha, ha...can't catch ME!)

Cassie has a really strange habit. Her water bowl kept moving. The first time I found it empty in the middle of the room, I blamed my two year old grandaughter as she had been playing alone in the same room.

But then it happened again when she wasn't there..."Ghosts!!", I thought, but then I saw Cassie go over to her water bowl, pick it up between her teeth and wander off with it, spilling all the contents of course. I can't figure out why she does it...she never does the same with her food bowls.

And as for cables, she has to be constantly watched so she doesn't get an electric shock...she's already bitten right through the wire on my mobile phone charger........
So far there doesn't seem to be anything she's afraid of - or if there is she doesn't show it. I'm sure there are loads more stories just waiting to happen with Cassie around. Let's just wait and see...................
